Summary

Cercle Brugge is seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Junior Data Architect/Analyst Intern to join our team for a 3 to 6 month internship, starting in January or February, 2025. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the professional football industry, supporting key decisions with data-driven insights and architecture.

Responsibilities

  • Data Analysis and Insights: Analyze player performance, match data, and operational statistics to contribute to the club’s decision-making processes.
  • Visualization and Reporting: Develop and maintain dashboards and reports using Tableau or Power BI to present insights to technical staff and management.
  • Programming and Automation: Utilize Python or R to clean, process, and analyze football-related datasets, automating workflows where possible.
  • Database Management: Support database querying and management using SQL to ensure efficient data organization and accessibility.
  • Collaboration: Partner with analysts, coaches, and other stakeholders to understand data needs and provide actionable solutions.
  • Documentation: Record workflows, processes, and results for future use and consistency within the analytics team.
  • Learning and Development: Participate in team discussions to enhance your knowledge of football analytics and data architecture

Preferred Skills And Experience

Programming: Proficiency in Python or R for data manipulation and analysis.

  • Visualization Tools: Experience with Tableau or Power BI for building interactive dashboards.
  • SQL Knowledge: Understanding of SQL for querying and managing football data.
  • Football Knowledge: Interest in or knowledge of football and its performance metrics is an advantage.
  • Spreadsheet Skills: Competence with tools like Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
  • Cloud Computing (Nice to Have): Familiarity with AWS or other cloud platforms is a bonus but not essential.
  • Soft Skills: Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, time management, and a collaborative spirit.
