The Position: Veracyte is seeking an exceptional candidate for a summer internship on the Product Development team. The Product Development team at Veracyte is tasked with developing new clinical assays to enable better patient care. This role is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on, applied skills in an industry setting and explore what it's like to work inside an R&D team at an industry-leading diagnostics company. This is an in-person role in South San Francisco.  The role will be part time, 20-30 hours a week, for approximately 12 weeks from June-September.   What You'll do:   The successful candidate will work as part of a team developing novel NGS diagnostic tests and testing emerging technologies. The role is primarily focused on lab execution, however there will be opportunities to be involved in all aspects of science including experimental planning, troubleshooting, and data analysis.       Who You Are: * Current undergraduate or master's student in a scientific field (Biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics, cancer biology, etc.)  * Previous hands-on experience with molecular biology techniques, such as DNA/RNA extraction and quantitation, and PCR required * Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, and ability to work effectively as part of a team  * Self-motivated, detail-oriented, curious and eager to learn  #LI-Onsite   The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type and length of experience within the industry, education, etc. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
