The company's goal is to open vehicle programming to everyone by simplifying vehicle software development and increasing deployment frequency without compromising safety or security. The team believes this will create a whole new market of vehicle application developers who, through software, may integrate vehicles into our daily lives in Client ways. Aims to significantly improve how vehicles are designed and developed, and we're working closely with the automaker to realize this goal in its next-generation vehicles.


The Integration Engineering team's mission is to support the delivery of the company product suite to build, deploy and test vehicle software. In this growing team working on an early-stage product, the ideal candidate will be ready to roll up their sleeves to work directly with product, engineering, and test teams to address the needs of our customers and partners.


WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Integration Engineer to be responsible for building the bridge between physical ECUs and our virtual vehicle network for the next generation of automotive software. The ideal candidate will be familiar with multiple layers of the software stack, communications interfaces and protocols, and are excited to help build a state-of-the-art platform. Automotive and/or embedded software experience will be valued, or alternatively, experience building distributed systems is also valuable.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop software for simulation, testing, integration, and validation, including SILS, HILS and VILS.
  • Participate in Agile Scrum development, using Systems Engineering principles.
  • Build strong partnerships with teams and adapt to changes as the platform evolves
  • Use, evaluate, and give feedback on tools and platforms built by company teams
  • Train and work closely with customers to deliver next-generation vehicle applications for production vehicles.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 3-5 years' experience in software development in C/C++
  • Experience reading PCB schematics and debugging problems with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes.
  • Experience in embedded software in robotics or automotive
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with effective management of priorities and deadlines
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years in automotive
  • Understanding of typical ECU hardware architecture and familiarity with standard vehicle architecture.
  • Proficiency with Linux Kernel module and device tree modifications and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in CI/CD practices for automotive testing environments.
  • Ability to interact with C [ C++, Python,] and Golang-based projects.
  • Experience with automotive build systems, communication protocols (CAN, Ethernet, LIN, Flexray), and development using safety standards like ISO26262.


Automotive Embedded Hardware Testing expertise

  • Background & Experience:
  • Candidate should have experience in hardware (HW) testing, ideally in embedded systems.
  • Finding someone with automotive protocol experience may be challenging.
  • Role & Responsibilities:
  • Work with Toyota to set up testing for their hardware components (e.g., brake module) alongside Woven products.
  • Understand:
  • The technology behind the HW component.
  • Requirements & limitations of Woven products.
  • Client requirements to ensure compatibility.
  • Primarily responsible for designing the testing methodology rather than extensive development.
  • Technical Skills & Knowledge:
  • Programming: Light C/C++ (C++20) and Python.
  • Software Development:
  • Understanding of software component interface design.
  • Familiarity with Agile development processes.
  • Automotive Protocols:
  • CAN, Ethernet, general networking, LVDS video.
  • Reverse Engineering:
  • May need to analyze existing systems to establish proper communication with components.

Must-Have Skillsets for an Integration Engineer in an Automotive Organization:

  1. System Integration & Architecture: Deep understanding of integrating complex automotive systems
  2. Software Development: Proficiency in programming languages like Python, C++, or Java for system automation and troubleshooting.
  3. Embedded Systems: Knowledge of embedded systems development, particularly for automotive control units.
  4. Networking & Communication Protocols: Experience with CAN, LIN, Ethernet, and other automotive communication protocols.
  5. Test & Validation: Ability to design and execute test plans for integration validation to ensure system functionality and safety standards.


Nice-to-Have Skillsets:

  1. Automotive Standards Knowledge: Familiarity with ISO 26262, AUTOSAR, and other industry-specific standards.
  2. Cloud Platforms: Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) for data integration and management.
  3. Machine Learning/AI: Understanding of machine learning algorithms applied to automotive systems like autonomous driving.
  4. Agile Methodology: Familiarity with agile frameworks for cross-functional collaboration and iterative development.
  5. Data Analytics: Knowledge of big data and analytics tools for data-driven decision-making in automotive integration.
