Job Summary:

The Intake/Legal Assistant is essential to our client onboarding process. You will conduct intake interviews, gather information, and assist attorneys with various administrative and case-related tasks. This role is perfect for someone empathetic, highly organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced legal environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for prospective and existing clients with professionalism and empathy.
  • Answer inbound calls, emails, and website inquiries.
  • Conduct thorough intake interviews using a scripted questionnaire.
  • Accurately input and maintain intake data in case management systems.
  • Schedule consultations and ensure relevant documentation is obtained.
  • Perform conflict checks and follow up on missing client information.
  • Interview clients, witnesses, and class members; prepare summaries.
  • File and serve legal documents (training provided).
  • Maintain detailed case files and cost tracking summaries.
  • Provide administrative support to attorneys as needed.
  • Handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Embrace and learn new software tools and legal technologies.

Qualifications:

  • Bilingual (Spanish-English) – fluency in both written and spoken communication is required.
  • Legal or administrative assistant experience is preferred but not required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organization and time management abilities.
  • Tech-savvy and comfortable learning new tools (e.g., Clio, Microsoft Office, Apple OS).
  • High school diploma required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.

Compensation & Schedule:

  • Pay: $20.00 – $25.00 per hour, based on experience
  • Type: Full-Time
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8-hour shifts
  • Location: Hybrid – must be able to commute to our office in Glendale, CA
