Job Description:Instrumentation Lab Technician
About the Role:
· The Instrumentation Laboratory Technician is sets up, operation and maintenance of specialized instrumentation data acquisition systems. This includes the use of simple electronics equipment including ohmmeter and voltmeter. This includes wiring and soldering connections.
You Will:
· Report to the onsite Engineering Manager
· Solder and build cables, with knowledge of various connector types.
· Have technical skills for troubleshooting, maintenance and limited repair of low power DC circuits.
· Work on both metallic and Composite parts/ assemblies to fix strain gages and wiring for data collection
· There may be travel requirements for off-site testing which can last up to 8 weeks at a time.
· Can work second shift if necessary.
You'll Need:
· 5+ years' experience in aerospace, instrumentation, or strain gageinstallation
· Very good knowledge of strain gages, fixing them on surfaces such as Composite structures, metallic structures and pipes etc.
· Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a team environment withcustomers and other disciplines
· Understanding of wiring diagrams for small project assembly
· Understanding of mechanical drawings
· Microsoft software suite applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint
· Good communication skills – oral and written.
· Physical strength -ability to lift up to 75 lbs , climb and work for extend periods in confined areas
· Associate Degree in electrical / electronics / science / mech.
· engineering (preferred), High School Diploma (required)
Years of Experience: Industry:
· Instrumentation / strain gage Installation / aerospace : 5+ yrs Required
· This role is subject to compliance with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), which requires the incumbent to be a US citizen or lawful permanent resident [“green card” holders]
