Your work environment at EXP

In this role, you will be a part of the midstream facilities team, of the Energy Services, based in Houston Office and have the opportunity to work on the broad range of renewable, natural gas or oil projects.

What a day at EXP has in store for you

  • Serve as the Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) and Electrical (E) discipline owner for the Energy Group, working closely with other discipline engineers to deliver projects.
  • Capable of working in AutoCAD as necessary and also coordinating with E&I designers to prepare the drawing deliverables.
  • Translate design sketches, layouts, and notes into finished CAD construction drawings.
  • Prepare drawings, diagrams and sketches of special items for use by drafting personnel.
  • Review and check detailed drawings and layouts.
  • Write I&C and E design project scope of work, specifically for midstream oil and gas projects.
  • Complete walk downs and estimates for projects, including those in midstream facilities.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

What Your Experience Looks Like

  • 8-12 years of I&C and E design experience within the Oil & Gas Industry, with significant experience in midstream facilities such as pipelines, compressor stations, and meter stations.
  • Strong understanding of instrumentation and electrical controls commonly found in midstream applications.
  • Good to Strong AutoCAD Skills & SPI
  • Experienced with Microsoft Office software, Adobe software
  • Proven experience with common Distributed Control Systems (DCS) such as DeltaV, and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) including but not limited to Allen-Bradley ControlLogix/CompactLogix and Siemens S7. Experience with Traditional I/O, Remote I/O, and Charms is highly desirable.
  • Experienced with design drawings: P&IDs, Plan Drawings, Installation Details, I&C & Electrical Specific Drawings: Loops, One Lines/Three Lines, Wiring Diagrams; Schematics, conduit and cable tray layouts, pressure, temperature, flow, density, and other instrumentation, instrument loops, PLC and DCS.
  • Able and experienced with walking down proposed installations in midstream pipeline facilities, compressor stations, meter stations, and well sites. (Both new and retro-fit)
  • Experience with I/O detail wiring and termination for both DCS and PLC systems.
  • Experience specifying instruments and creating instrument data sheets relevant to midstream applications.
  • Outdoor design experience, able to wear required PPE and drive safely to job-site for field measurement, verification and as-built of drawings, including travel to sites.
  • Strong language skills (written and oral).
  • Possess strong computer skills, especially in Excel and Word.
  • Possess excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a team working environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license is preferred.
