What To Expect
This position will work as a member of Tesla’s Instrumentation, Calibration, and Imaging Group to support product validation of Tesla Vehicles in development; Cybertruck, Semi, Next-gen vehicles, etc. Additionally, within this role, the person will continue providing support to the rest of the Tesla products as dictated by the priorities. This role is responsible for calibration of test and measurement equipment used to support various test teams, as well as control of equipment used in tests performed in-house and at external test labs. The successful candidate for this position will have a broad background in automotive testing, calibrations, and project management.
What You'll Do
Perform in-house calibration of devices by comparing measurements of pressure, temperature, acceleration, or other environmental conditions to known standardsConduct calibration tests to determine the performance or reliability of mechanical, structural, or electro-mechanical equipmentMaintain sensor library, sensor repair, and coordinate activities of all instrumentation and test equipmentOperate and use diagnostic scan tools, scopes, meters, and other test equipmentSet up a data acquisition program and validate the connectivity of all the sensorsDesign and create custom brackets and fixturesKeep records of maintenance, repair, and required updates of equipmentEstablish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of workWork with vendors and coordinate onsite/ external calibrations
What You'll Bring
Formal electronics training (AC/DC circuits, formulae, and components) or equivalent work experienceHas a basic understanding of calibration standards such as calibration ratio and inaccuracy specifications, moving into linear vs. non-linear calibrationsExperience with data acquisition systems like DTS, SOMAT, NI, DEWESOFT, etc.Ability to operate and maintain a wide variety of hand and power tools, shop tools, and shop equipment, for the servicing of automobilesProficient with MS Office tools and Adobe productsExperience with JIRA and Confluence or other project management softwareDemonstrated independent and self-motivated professional with the capability to handle several tasks with minimal supervisionInstallation, calibration, and set up of strain gages (bonus)Knowledge of automated calibration systems (electrical preferred)Flexibility to travel domestically (Up to 10%)

Expected Compensation
$24.40 - $36.60/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
