Responsibilities:
Ensure that R&D Lab is maintained and is suitably safe, efficient and reliable. Project management support for the design and development of hardware suitable for the R&D Lab. Define critical spare parts and collaborate in liaison with inventory specialist to keep inventory levels for Lab operation. Maintain a high-performance instrumentation, calibration and maintenance program and effective communication, to accommodate in master test schedule. Support both Preventative Maintenance through analysis, planning and scheduling and Reactive. Develop the budget to support Lab facilities and instrumentation objectives. Implement operational controls to carry out hazard identification, risk assessment and prepare work Instructions for all maintenance activities. Actively contribute to the lab strategic vision as part of the lab leadership team. Track calibration records per IATF 16949 requirements. Ensure calibration vendors are certified per IATF 16949 requirements. Actively participate in HSE behavior programs & HSE programs and its performance for continuous improvement. Ensure adherence to the occupational health safety & environmental controls. Focus on continuous improvement and lean operation. Responsible for the Quality Management System (IATF 16949) according to the stakeholder matrix and comply with the Legal and Regulatory Requirements applicable to Garrett. Our Lab consists in several department organized in a way that we can build, test, and qualify our products. We have a concept shop department, a compressor test department, an electrical laboratory department, and a mechanical rigs department. Our products are automotive advanced parts and components, that are now electrified, such as electric compressors and electric powertrain units. In our activities in the lab, we are also testing deeply the sub-components level such as the electrical motors and the micro-controllers. The role required working on all the different areas from our laboratory, with main role to maintain and calibrate our equipment, but also to develop special Tests setup and ensure that the proper equipment will be well arranged for the testing that our Engineering departments would need (from Hardware level to Software level). The type of equipment is various and goes from high voltage electrical devices to mechanical benches, up to Air stand benches that can measure air flow performance for our products. The areas touched are the electrical and electronical, also the mechanical and pneumatic/air areas and the programming of our tests software as this is mandatory for us to control our devices and record data.
You Must Have
Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field, and 3 years of experience in a test engineering environment with instrumentation and maintenance background. Full term of experience must include: sensors and signal conditioners; optimization equipment knowledge; LabVIEW knowledge; data acquisition systems knowledge; piping and instrumentation diagrams; electrical diagrams; motor drivers; Electrical, Pneumatics, Hydraulics and Mechanical knowledge; knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health; and knowledge of Quality Management System.

- The salary range for this role is between $111,426 and $128,200
