Title: Controls Engineer

Location: On-site in Richmond, Virginia

Summary:

The Chatham Group: Advanced Materials and Technologies Recruiting Firm is seeking qualified candidates for a Controls Engineer role with a client in the industrial foams and foam products industry. The overarching responsibility of the role is to design, program, and maintain PLC based control and instrumentation systems within the production facility. An ideal candidate will be proficient in Allen Bradley systems such as RSLogix 500 and Studio 5000.

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain PLC control systems using Allen Bradley systems
• Develop graphical HMIs using FactoryTalk software
• Work with internal teams and external contractors to troubleshoot, upgrade, or otherwise optimize existing control and instrumentation systems
• Produce electrical schematics using design software like AutoDesk
• Interface with and program drives, other robotics, and safety systems (Fanuc, ABB, etc)
• Provide subject matter expertise on all control and instrumentation systems projects

Qualifications:

• BS Degree in Electrical Engineering
• 5+ years of hands on experience programing PLCs in a manufacturing environment
• Proficiency with RSLogix 500, Studio 5000, FactoryTalk
• Experience with robotics programming software such a Allen Bradley Powerflex
• Familiarity with AutoDesk electrical schematic drawing
• Willingness to travel for site support

Compensation will be commensurate with experience and relocation will be provided to qualified candidates.
