Summary

About This Role:

We are seeking an experienced and creative Instructional Designer / Course Designer to design, develop, and enhance engaging, learner-centered training programs and course materials. The ideal candidate will collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to transform complex content into accessible, impactful learning experiences across digital and traditional platforms.

📍 Location: Houston, TX (Greenspoint)

🕒 Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM - Hybrid

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop instructional materials for online, hybrid, and in-person delivery.
  • Collaborate with SMEs, faculty, and stakeholders to analyze learning needs and objectives.
  • Create engaging learning activities, storyboards, assessments, and multimedia content.
  • Apply adult learning theory, instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, SAM), and accessibility best practices.
  • Utilize authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline, Rise, Captivate, and/or Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Build content into LMS platforms (e.g., Canvas, Blackboard, Moodle, or similar).
  • Conduct usability testing and evaluation to refine course materials.
  • Recommend learning technologies, methods, and tools to improve instructional effectiveness.
  • Ensure content complies with accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) and copyright guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, Curriculum Development, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 3+ years of experience in instructional or course design, preferably in higher education or corporate training.
  • Strong knowledge of instructional design models and adult learning theory.
  • Proficiency with eLearning authoring tools and LMS platforms.
  • Excellent project management and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Experience with video editing, screen capture, and multimedia development is a plus.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with microlearning and mobile-first content design.
  • Familiarity with SCORM/xAPI standards.
  • Graphic design or UI/UX knowledge.
  • Certification in instructional design or eLearning development (e.g., ATD, IDOL, etc.).
