As a 1099 independent contractor, you will install entry, storm, and interior doors in residential homes. This role allows you the flexibility to manage your own schedule while performing high-quality installations. You must be experienced in door installation, detail-oriented, and committed to providing top-tier service to homeowners. Key Responsibilities: Install entry doors, storm doors, interior doors, and related hardware in residential homes. Measure door openings and adjust frames or door jambs as needed for proper fit. Remove existing doors and frames if necessary, ensuring no damage to surrounding areas. Cut and shape doors to fit non-standard openings when required. Install door hardware including locks, hinges, handles, and weather stripping. Ensure proper alignment, function, and secure installation of each door. Provide cleanup after installation, leaving job sites clean and presentable. Communicate with homeowners to ensure their needs and expectations are met. Follow all building codes and safety protocols during installations. Use and maintain your own tools, including drills, saws, and levels. Troubleshoot and resolve any installation issues to the satisfaction of the customer. Qualifications: Proven experience in installing both entry and interior doors in residential settings. Strong understanding of door types, installation methods, and carpentry techniques. Ability to read and interpret installation instructions, blueprints, and product specifications. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail in fitting and alignment. Outstanding communication skills and the ability to provide professional service to homeowners. Own transportation and all necessary tools for door installation. Valid driver’s license and liability insurance (required). Physically able to lift doors and work in various positions (standing, kneeling, lifting). Experience in handling different materials such as wood, fiberglass, and metal doors. Knowledge of local building codes and regulations. Work Schedule: Flexible schedule with the ability to accept or decline projects based on availability. Jobs will be offered based on your service area and availability. Compensation: Pay is project-based, with competitive rates determined by the scope of work. Payment will be made direct deposit weekly upon completion of each project (specific terms to be discussed). Potential for ongoing work based on performance and customer satisfaction. Requirements: Must operate as an independent contractor (1099 status). Responsible for paying your own taxes, insurance, and managing your own business operations.
