Basic Job Functions:
Responsibilities for the Inside Sales Representative include but are not limited to:
Assume full responsibility for the coordination of high profile and high complex projects from inception to order phase.
Work closely with the Special Projects Coordinator to ensure a smooth transition from quote to order.
Identify potential risks, develop mitigation strategies, and monitor risks throughout the pre-sale project lifecycle.
Gather market information to assist in developing and executing sales and pricing strategies while setting clear expectations with our customers to foster mutually successful outcomes.
Understand and manage contract terms and payment conditions for a project to allow for a smooth transition from quote to order.
Communicate strategic business decisions independently.
Manage conflict resolution, enabling the negotiation of mutually beneficial outcomes for both the customer and Nucor.
Continuous and effective communication to keep customers and internal teammates informed about project progress.
Identify and address any issues or obstacles that arise during the quote phase, find effective solutions, and keep projects on track.
Ensure clarity of price, scope, and schedule needed for the project to allow a smooth transition from quote to order.
Work with other departments including Estimating, Sales, Customer Service, Engineering, Design, and Pricing.
Ensure projects adhere to project specifications, standards, and regulatory compliance.
Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, understand their needs, and ensure their satisfaction.
Prepare comprehensive project documentation and reports as required to meet project requirements.
Leverage project management tools and software to enhance planning, tracking, and reporting.
Implement agile practices to enhance flexibility, responsiveness, and iterative progress in project management.
Initiate, coordinate, and lead pre-design & pre-order meetings with all necessary parties as needed.
Support the sales process in pre-sale meetings with customers as directed.
Provide direct estimating assistance to the NIPG Commercial team and customers as needed.
Provide claims support as needed regarding any pre-sale issues that arise
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
2+ years college/continued education or 3+ years’ experience in professional role
Must be willing and able to travel occasionally with minimal notice.
Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
Preferred Qualifications:
2+ years’ experience in a estimating role or outside sales role
Ability to interpret architectural drawings and perform accurate take-offs for quoting purposes
Prior experience in a customer facing or customer service type role
