Insides Sales Assistant

VMI, Inc. is a VAR (Value Added Reseller) providing Audio-Visual and Broadcast Solutions on the West Coast. We're looking for an entry to junior level Inside Sales Assistant to join our Sales Team. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their career who is eager to learn, energetic, positive, and results oriented.
Job description
- Assist the outside sales team by researching pricing, contacting manufacturers for availability, and serving as a secondary point of contact for clients.
- Answer incoming phone calls and make outbound calls to customers, sales staff, and manufacturers.
- Create and enter quotes, convert quotes to orders, place purchase orders, and provide updates throughout the order lifecycle.
- Understand product availability and set appropriate delivery expectations with customers.
- Actively pursue new sales opportunities and contribute to account development.
- Maintain a schedule of appointments and prospecting calls.
- Prospect and cold call businesses daily to generate leads.
- Monitor bid sites and prepare competitive quotes for audio-visual, presentation, display, and production products.
- Build relationships with existing customers and identify growth opportunities, including rental and repair services.
- Consistently meet and exceed monthly sales targets.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with audio-visual and broadcast manufacturers.
- Coordinate equipment demonstrations for audio-visual and video solutions as needed.
- Support the annual tradeshow by inviting manufacturers to exhibit, customers to attend, and prospective clients to engage.
- Receive products, assist with staging for customer orders or installation projects, and handle shipping as needed.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Committed to delivering exceptional customer service.
- Tech-savvy, with familiarity in audio-visual and/or production technologies; knowledge of networking products is a plus.
- Familiarity with leading AV/production brands such as AMX, Crestron, Extron, NEC, Panasonic, Sony, JVC, etc. is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Education/Experience
- Minimum of one year of sales/customer service experience, or retail experience in a related industry supporting audio/video/visual technology, (e.g., Best Buy).
- High school diploma or 3 years’ related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience in audio-visual, video and/or production preferred.
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university in audio/production/video engineering strongly encouraged to apply.
This is a full-time, in-office role based in the Bay Area. Please note that remote work or relocation assistance is not offered.
