Summary

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining the Injection Molding Process Set Up Sheets.
  • Maintain the Molding Machine Calibration Program.
  • Troubleshooting Mold Tooling and Machine Issues.
  • Part Quality Checks and Proper Documentation.
  • Follow All Standard Procedures on Control Plans and Scrap Limits on QRQC Sheets.
  • Mold Tool Cleaning and Preventative Maintenance.
  • Communication of Part, Tooling, Press, or Material Issues with Leader and Supervisor.
  • Part Packing and Labeling as required.
  • Other Tasks assigned by Shift Supervisor.

  • Technical understanding of Injection Molding Process.
  • Regular and predictable attendance.
  • Strong professional and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to interact with co-workers, customers, vendors and visitors in a respectful and professional manner.
  • Proven ability to work independently as well as multi-task.
  • Strong organization skills.
  • Proficient computer skills and abilities with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc).
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Ability to work any shifts, weekends, as well as over-time on short notice.

Education And Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of Injection Molding Process Optimization (Systematic Injection Molding)
  • Associates Degree in Technology preferred but not mandatory in lieu of qualified experience
  • Injection Mold tool repair experience is a plus

Licensing Or Special Certification Requirements

  • Statistical Process Control (SPC) as required

Physical Requirements

  • Standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching and climbing stairs
  • Lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs
  • Pushing or pulling up to 100 lbs
  • Use of hands and legs
  • Speak clearly, oral communication and hearing conversation
  • Ability for rapid manual/muscular coordination simultaneously involving wrist/hands/fingers
  • Vision: depth perception and distinguish basic colors
  • Operation of truck or motor vehicle

Working Conditions

  • Works inside within an automotive components manufacturing office setting and may be exposed to heat, cold and fumes/chemicals.
  • Noise: constant above 85dcb with vibration
  • Occasionally work with chemicals, grease, oils, machinery with moving parts, moving vehicles, hands in water, alone and more than 40 hours

Protective Equipment Required

  • Eye protection required
  • Hearing protection Required
  • Occasionally hard hat and gloves are required
  • Steel-toed boots
