Summary

The Injection Molding Engineer is responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing injection molding processes for contract manufacturing. This role involves collaboration across departments and with customers to ensure successful execution of qualification activities. Additionally, the engineer supports production by guiding and training process technicians in their daily tasks. Main Duties: Develop reliable and efficient molding processes using scientific methods. Recommend and implement changes to molds, equipment, and processes aimed at improving productivity and efficiency. Identify and resolve process development challenges to enhance manufacturability. Troubleshoot issues related to molding processes, materials, and manufacturing. Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to address molding and manufacturing challenges and implement sustainable solutions. Research and introduce improvements to process controls, machinery, and manufacturing techniques. Create standardized operating procedures to ensure consistency in production. Suggest new or alternative materials to reduce costs or improve molding performance. Provide technical guidance and support on the production floor, addressing problems through systematic troubleshooting and root cause analysis, including repairs and process modifications. Contribute to root-cause analysis and troubleshooting of product or tooling-related issues, offering technical insights when needed. Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOM) and production routings through engineering change orders (ECO) and corrective action requests (CAR). Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (e.g., Industrial, Manufacturing, Electro-Mechanical, or similar). Hands-on experience in the field. Proficiency in scientific molding techniques. Competent in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project). CAD software experience (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) is preferred. RJG certification is an advantage. Skills & Experience Required: Strong analytical problem-solving abilities. Familiarity with secondary operations qualification. Experience with MRP systems such as IQMS or similar. Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
