Summary

Our client in the insurance industry is seeking a high-potential Infrastructure Lead to join their IT team. This is a unique opportunity for a technically grounded individual who thrives in hands-on operations and infrastructure projects, while also bringing a strategic, forward-thinking mindset to technology. The ideal candidate will possess a solid foundation in infrastructure management and will be groomed into a senior leadership role with mentorship and guidance


Responsibilities:

  • Lead the day-to-day operations of IT infrastructure, including servers, operating systems (Linux/Windows), patch management, backup, and recovery.
  • Manage and maintain Acronis Backup solutions, ensuring data integrity and availability.
  • Oversee data center operations and setup, including rack installation, power/cooling management, and server provisioning.
  • Drive and support cloud initiatives (AWS/Azure), including hybrid environment integration, cost optimization, and governance.
  • Implement and uphold best practices for disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity planning (BCP).
  • Handle vendor and stakeholder management, including contract negotiations, performance reviews, and vendor relations.
  • Monitor system performance, proactively identify risks, and recommend improvements for security, scalability, and resilience.
  • Stay engaged with industry developments by attending conferences, networking events, and contributing external insights to internal strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and assist in aligning infrastructure plans with overall business goals.
  • Be open to continuous development — this role is positioned to transition into a broader leadership position, with the hiring manager committed to grooming the selected candidate.


Requirements

  • At least 6 years of experience in IT infrastructure, with strong hands-on expertise in, Linux/Windows server administration; Acronis backup solutions; Data center operations; Patch management; Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure)
  • Proven track record in both day-to-day operations and project delivery, such as cloud migrations and disaster recovery planning.
  • Strong experience in vendor and stakeholder management.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking with a forward-looking approach to infrastructure and technology.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Actively involved in the tech community (e.g., conferences, industry events, forums).
  • High potential to grow into a leadership role — coachable, self-driven, and eager to step up.
