As an Infrastructure Engineering Intern, you will have the opportunity to gain practical experience in various engineering disciplines and contribute to real-world engineering projects. You will work closely with experienced engineers, participate in hands-on activities, and apply theoretical knowledge to solve practical engineering challenges. This role will provide you with valuable insights into the engineering field, enhance your technical skills, and prepare you for a successful career in engineering.

All Interns have the potential to be hired full-time upon graduation. The successful candidate will use the verbal and written communication tools they have learned through education and apply them to a professional setting. This internship is based in Indianapolis, Indiana and the Intern will be requested to come into the office 3 days a week as a part of our Hybrid work policy.

As the Infrastructure Engineering Intern your responsibilities will consist of:

• Assist in the design, development, testing, and implementation of infrastructure engineering projects.
• Collaborate with engineers to troubleshoot issues and recommend solutions.
• Conduct research and analysis to support engineering initiatives.
• Participating in project meetings and providing technical support.
• Document project milestones, procedures, and outcomes clearly and accurately.
• Analyze complex business problems as it relates to enterprise network infrastructure (systems, network, and security).
• Install and support Cisco and other firewall technologies.
• Define project scope and timelines to ensure deadlines are met.
• Interface with all levels of employees, internally and within client businesses, to support program requirements (business owners, project managers, customer employees, and executive management).
• Updating and creating technical procedural documentation.
• Manage infrastructure task workflows, including automated events and manager requests, to ensure compliance with service levels and KPIs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
  
  

Required Education, Knowledge, And Experience

• Must be pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field.
• Knowledge of industry best practices and experience with physical and virtual systems, storage, network, and security troubleshooting.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Basic understanding of engineering principles and concepts.
• Familiarity with engineering design processes and methodologies.
• Knowledge of relevant engineering software and tools.
• Basic ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  
  

Preferred Experience

• ITIL Foundation v4 is a plus but not required.
• Technical certifications are a plus but not required.
