Infrastructure Engineer – £27,000-£35,000 DoE – Lancashire
This company is a leading manufacturing company, seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to become a key part of their collaborative team. In this role, you’ll play a vital part in maintaining the reliability and performance of IT systems, whilst also contributing to the rollout and evolution of new technologies that support the company’s continued growth.
You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day management, support, and upkeep of infrastructure, as well as taking part in a range of exciting projects. This role could be perfect for a more junior Engineer, looking to gain hands-on experience with IT Infrastructure and projects. Or a more experienced Engineer, who wants to be part of a close-knit and supportive team.
This role is offered as 4 days on site and 1 day from home (once probation has been passed).
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver user support for business and Windows-based systems, resolving issues and managing requests via the call management system.
- Contribute to IT projects, including the implementation of new technologies and initiatives.
- Provide technical support across IT infrastructure, including laptops, desktops, mobile devices, and printers.
- Collaborate with third-party vendors.
- Maintain accurate asset tracking for hardware and software.
- Ensure high-quality, up-to-date IT documentation.
- Support user onboarding/offboarding and deliver end-user training.
- Offer insights and recommendations for system improvements and functionality enhancements.
Key Skills:
- Proficient in VMware, Microsoft Windows Server 2019, M365, Exchange, and Windows 10/11.
- Skilled in managing Active Directory, Group Policy, DHCP/DNS, and basic network administration (switching and routing).
- Hands-on experience with Dell & HPE server hardware and Palo Alto firewalls is desirable but not essential.
- Experience with Linux, Network Monitoring, Azure, Veeam, SQL Server, WSUS, Sophos End-Point Security is desired but not essential.
