Working closely with the Head of Network and Infrastructure Engineering, this role oversees the technology outcomes for the Infrastructure Design & Engineering Team. This role leads a team responsible for the design of Infrastructure and Network solutions, and the engineering delivery of Infrastructure and Network projects. 

The responsibilities encompass the processes ownership for end to end network and infrastructure design activities as well as leading the delivery of network and infrastructure projects. The role requires an innovative culture with a mindset of automation first that promotes lateral thinking, while adopting a collaborative approach to problem-solving.

About the opportunity  

• Own the detailed design outcomes for Infrastructure and Network Engineering.
• Strong technical background in modern networking practices (Public Cloud Networking, SASE) with experience in design and engineering mission-critical, large-scale platforms and networks
• Strong technical background in hyper converged infrastructure (various HCI technologies including VMWare) 
• Experience with modern engineering practices and infrastructure as code technologies to drive automation (Ansible, Terraform, Packer ect)

 Essential Experience

• Extensive experience leading a design and engineering function.
• Significant experience developing infrastructure detailed designs documentation.
• A mandatory detailed knowledge of modern networking principles (SASE, Cloud).
• Demonstrated skills working with internal customers in a large-scale development environment.
• Proficient in both waterfall and agile development methodologies.

• Ability to navigate and resolve conflicts that may arise between different teams or stakeholders. 
• Experience in managing competing priorities, negotiating compromises, and finding solutions that balance the needs of various parties involved.

• Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, such as development, security, architecture.
• Be comfortable building and maintaining relationships with external vendors who provide infrastructure and network-based products and services. CISCO, PA, Microsoft, VMWare .
