The Role:
Parico is seeking a talented Senior Infrastructure Architect who is smart, curious and prospers against the challenge of working closely with a small business to solve complex and challenging problems across the Public Sector landscape.
You will be part of a strong, close-knit technical team and play an instrumental role supporting a number of large programmes of work and will play a key role in ensuring technical solutions are designed to meet our customers functional and non-functional requirements.
This role requires sole UK nationality to obtain UK security clearance.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead technical and design discussions with senior stakeholders to help them speed their adoption of new technologies and practices.
- Own estimation efforts to rapidly develop an understanding of potential solution costs and delivery timescales.
- Retains overall ownership of solution through delivery and transition into operation and/or subsequent refinement, or modification.
- Ensure that appropriate National Cyber Security Centre standards are tightly integrated within the solution.
- Exert technical influence over multiple teams, increasing their productivity and effectiveness by sharing deep knowledge and experience.
- Develop technical solutions across key disciplines such as design, de-risking and development, across the following technologies:
Microsoft Windows Server;
- AD and NTFS permissions
- DNS
- DHCP
- Group Policy, CIS and NCSC Security Hardening
- Microsoft Exchange
- Network Time Protocol
- Public Key Infrastructure
Virtualisation;
- VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)
- VMware vSAN Storage
- Vmware vCenter
- High Availability
- Clustering
- Cross-site failure and resiliency
Our Ideal Candidate
- A proven track record for delivering several large-scale IT projects, with direct responsibility for designing and implementing highly available and resilient Infrastructure solutions.
- Strong documentation experience, both in creating high and low level technical design documentation and implementing low level configuration details that underpin the architecture.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and comfortable taking on new challenges.
- Working as part of an Agile development team.
- Experience working with DevOps tools including;
- JIRA, Confluence and Bitbucket.
- Have demonstrable sector knowledge or experience within UK Defence (Army, Air force or Royal Navy).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical issues to project managers, developers, and architects in an easy to understand manner, and recommend clearly thought out solutions.
- Hold a minimum of UK Security Clearance (SC).
- Hold a UK Driving Licence and have a willingness to travel to client sites.
Essential Qualifications
- Windows Server certification, MCSA (Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate) / MCSE (Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert) or similar.
- VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or similar.
