Summary

About the role

We are looking for a skilled Infrastructure & Cloud Security Specialist to join our SOC/NOC team, responsible for ensuring the security, stability, and availability of IT infrastructures across multiple clients. This role focuses on monitoring, maintaining, and enhancing the security posture of both on-premises and Azure cloud environments.


Responsibilities

  • To liaise and collaborate with other members of the Infrastructure Team to ensure that agreed key deliverables are met
  • Deep technical experience in infrastructure design, build and deployment, including private and public cloud, networking, connectivity, storage, virtualization and identity
  • Build of hybrid environments to span existing customer networks and Azure
  • Managing and maintaining client Azure environments
  • Experience building and deploying resilient Azure cloud environments
  • Experience of migration and modernization of workloads from customers' on-premise data centres to Azure
  • Experience building and deploying Azure resources using IaC
  • Experience with the Azure CLI, PowerShell/Azure PowerShell and the Azure Portal
  • Experience working with or using Azure technologies such as virtual machines, blob, queues, tables, Cloud Services, web apps, Azure Active Directory, Virtual Networks etc.
  • Experience in maintaining, troubleshooting and supporting Windows server operating systems and server hardware in multi-site environments
  • Assist in producing and maintaining appropriate documentation, ensuring that procedures are documented in an efficient and timely manner, and that suitable version control is employed for all Infrastructure systems
  • Provide service assurance on configuration work, making sure all changes submitted are logged appropriately in line with the overall IT process for Change Management
  • Proactively monitor and update incidents or requests assigned to the Infrastructure Team queue including your own
  • Understand our disaster recovery procedures ensuring they are checked and in place, regularly assessed and kept up to date with newly introduced or modified infrastructure/systems
  • Assist with the delivery of projects contained within the IT Strategy as directed
  • Engaging with third parties if needed and work with them towards the resolution of an incident
  • Facilitate proactive remediation of new vulnerabilities by collaboration with cyber security, and endpoint teams
  • Create documentation and operating procedures to expand the current knowledgebase



Requirements

  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Strong communicator both written and spoken
  • Experience working with Azure cloud and on-premises
  • Strong IT background and knowledge of infrastructure, cloud and application stacks
  • Project Drive - The ability to think for yourself, understand a given problem and build that into measurable deliverables that you can demonstrate progress against given objectives
  • Good understanding of ITIL practices
  • Comfortable working autonomously to deliver value
  • Security or technical certifications will be an advantage
  • Experience coordinating small work packages, changes or projects in the infrastructure and applications areas
  • At least 3 years experience in Enterprise IT with exposure to security andinfrastructure
  • Comfortable with scripting languages (Powershell, Python etc.)
  • Experience with patch management
