Title: IT Project Manager

Location: Overland Park, KS (66105) / Hybrid

Employment Type: 6+ Month W2 Contract (no C2C or sponsorship available)

Job Description:

Talent Groups is seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to support a key enterprise client. This role is ideal for a proactive, detail-oriented professional with a strong background in IT infrastructure projects and project lifecycle methodologies. The selected candidate will lead medium-to-large technology initiatives from initiation to completion, ensuring alignment with business objectives and timely delivery.

Required Skills:

• Proficient in MS Project, Jira, and MS Planner
• Strong understanding of the project lifecycle and delivery phases
• Clear understanding of project charter development and its importance
• Team-Hood experience is a plus, not required
• 3–5 years of IT Project Management experience, ideally with infrastructure focus

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead all phases of project execution: planning, kickoff, execution, delivery, and closure
• Maintain urgency and accountability within the team
• Develop WBS, project schedules, and baseline plans
• Identify and manage project risks, issues, and mitigations
• Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders
• Track deliverables, resources, and budgets
• Provide status reports, metrics, and escalate issues as needed
• Create and execute stakeholder communication plans
• Mentor junior team members or Project Coordinators
• Recommend and implement process improvements

Ideal Qualifications:

• 3–5 years of IT Project Management experience, with infrastructure focus
• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Business, or related field preferred
• Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery methods
• Experience with IAM tools (Okta a plus)
• Strong skills with Microsoft Office, Project, Teams, SharePoint, Power BI, and Azure
• Experience coordinating cross-functional technical teams
• Knowledge of ITIL, Lean, or Six Sigma methodologies is a plus
