Are you a tech problem-solver with a hands-on approach? Do you thrive in a dynamic environment and enjoy supporting end users with their IT needs? Our client is looking for an IT Field Support Technician to join their team on a 3-month contract to hire basis in Chicago, IL!


This on-site role requires someone with great technical skills, a knack for customer service, and the ability to travel to and support various locations (Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle).


What You’ll Do:

As the IT Field Support Tech, you’ll serve as the go-to IT resource at your assigned location. Here's how you'll contribute:

  • 🛠️ Primary IT Support Contact: Troubleshoot and resolve end-user issues related to hardware, software, connectivity, and other office tech (e.g., printers, ZoomInfo).
  • 📄 Ticket Management: Prioritize, classify, and resolve tickets from a ticketing queue efficiently.
  • 👩‍💻 Onboarding/Offboarding: Set up new user accounts, assist with login issues, and configure devices for new hires.
  • 🔗 Network Support: Configure switch networks, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and maintain Cisco network stacks.
  • 🖥️ Device Management: Support unified platforms like Intune, MDM (Mobile Device Management), and Autopilot for seamless device use.
  • 🔒 Maintain Security: Ensure security protocols in areas such as identity management and network safety are being followed.
  • ⚙️ System Maintenance: Perform upgrades, scheduled maintenance, and daily system monitoring.
  • 🔄 Collaboration: Coordinate with system administrators, engineers, and the broader IT team to solve escalated issues.


What You’ll Bring:

  • IT Experience: Proven generalist knowledge in IT support across Active Directory, Office 365, Cisco, and Linux.
  • Network Skills: Strong understanding of configuring network switches and Cisco network stacks.
  • Bonus Skills (Huge Plus!): Familiarity with Intune, Google Workspace, MDM, and/or Autopilot.
  • Customer Service: Ability to de-escalate user issues and set appropriate expectations in hybrid work environments.
  • Security Awareness: Hands-on experience with identity management and security tools is preferred.
  • Problem-Solving Mindset: Quick adaptability to new systems and flexibility in handling diverse tasks.


Key Role Details:

  • 🚗 Must Have: Access to a vehicle and a valid driver’s license (for travel between locations).
  • 📍 On-Site, Chicago: This is not a remote position—your hands-on support will be vital to success.
  • Schedule: 37.5-hour work week (8:30 AM – 4:30 PM), occasional after-hours support is compensated with comp time.
