Summary

Bilingual IT System business analyst


This role is responsible for the business analysis, requirements gathering, functional setup and configuration, liaison with development team, testing facilitation, deployment, and some project management of enhancements and projects. This position plays a key role in translating the needs of the business into business requirements to support the delivery of services and solutions with primary focus in Japan and other market in region APAC.


Key Responsibilities:

Elicitiation & Collaboration

  • Work with multiple departments to document and validate current state business processes, documenting and translating the business’ requirements to help drive actionable IT solutions, and lead requirement gathering sessions to document and translate into system requirements.
  • Builds working relationships to form foundational connections beyond assigned project team.
  • Ensures that meetings achieve business objectives with proper planning, facilitation, and follow-up techniques.


Requirements Life Cycle Management

  • Participates in managing the scope of applications and related changes.
  • Maintain automated system protocols by writing and updating procedure
  • Drafts and documents processes and formal development procedures.

Strategy Analysis

  • Identifies and communicates risks and issues impacting business rules, functional requirements and specifications.
  • Evaluates new IT developments and evolving business requirements and recommends appropriate systems alternatives and/or enhancements to current systems.
  • In partnership with OCM, may create training materials.
  • May create end-user documentation (e.g., user guides, process flow charts, training materials) and deliver training.


Requirements Analysis & Design Definition

  • Assesses available technologies to create development specifications, as well as detailed test cases.
  • Proactively seek opportunities for simplification, application rationalization, and continuous improvement.
  • Translates users' business requirements into detailed functional designs for development, testing and implementation.
  • Applies methodologies such as Unified Modeling Language ("UML") and Rational Unified Process ("RUP") and prepares detailed specifications using case statements and related documentation.
  • Works closely with Architects and others on the applications development team to refine the solution design, methods and outcomes; constructing workflow charts and diagrams, study system capabilities, and write specifications.
  • Ensures a complete understanding of business needs and objectives, and proactively proposes IT solutions for the business unit.

Solution Evaluation

  • Ensure quality delivery of all IT services assigned to given function / location.
  • In its capacity as the “eyes and ears” of the business, this position works closly with the testing team and monitors progress to ensure that the emerging solution meets the demands of the requirement document. This may require the resolution of any conflicts arising due to any technical deviations from the agreed requirements.
  • Conduct user acceptance testing.
  • This position evaluates how users are working with the solution during the implementation phase and ensures modifications are made, where necessary.

Other

  • Mentors less experienced members of the team.
  • Prepares communications and makes presentations on system enhancements and/or alternatives.
  • Works under moderate supervision with some latitude for independent judgment.
  • Leads, facilitates, and coordinates projects, testing, training, and system patch or upgrade analysis.
  • Manages small IT projects that requires business process and system analysis


Education/Experience:

  • 4-6 years experience with IT, understanding of businesses or functions supported.
  • Bachelor's degree in any field; Advance degrees are preferred.
  • Has in-depth knowledge in own discipline and basic knowledge of related disciplines.
  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
  • Requires knowledge of computer system capabilities, business processes, and workflow.

Overall experience with Procurement lifecycle and Project lifecycle.
