IT Business Relationship Manager (Contract)
Location: Herndon, Virginia (Hybrid - Onsite 2 days per week, Remote 3 days per week)

Sesheng Company is seeking a highly motivated and experienced IT Business Relationship Manager for a contract position based in Herndon, Virginia on behalf of our enterprise client. This hybrid role requires a local candidate who can work onsite two days a week. The IT BRM will serve as a strategic interface between the department and assigned business partners within the agency, fostering positive and purposeful interactions, building and maintaining trusting relationships, and ensuring the successful delivery of IT products and services. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with exceptional communication and relationship management skills, capable of managing escalations and identifying opportunities for IT innovation to meet business needs.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor for assigned agency business partners and Districts regarding IT matters.
- Establish and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with Agency leadership up to the Executive level through regular meetings and communication.
- Partner closely with IT leadership to ensure the successful and continuous delivery of all products and services.
- Act as a central point of focus and resource for IT management, escalations, and coordination for assigned Districts.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and Enterprise Architecture to identify product lines and develop and maintain a multi-year business capability roadmap.
- Interface with project managers, service and operations managers to coordinate work, prioritize requests, and effectively manage escalations for assigned Divisions.
- Proactively identify opportunities for new IT services, service improvements, and technical innovation that align with and support business needs and strategic objectives.
- Oversee and manage business partner expectations related to engagement, service, and product delivery.
- Manage and resolve escalations related to technology procurements, projects, and service delivery requests in a timely and effective manner.
- Identify, champion, and clearly communicate customer needs and requirements to relevant teams.
- Consult and collaborate with teams managing production operations and the strategic direction for systems owned by assigned business partners.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or a minimum of six (6) years of related experience in an Information Technology role.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience working in Information Technology, including a strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, and technology procurement processes.
- Demonstrated experience (minimum 10 years) with strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with leadership at all levels.
- Proven ability (minimum 10 years) to actively listen, build rapport, and develop credibility as a strategic partner, with the capacity to influence opinions without relying solely on positional power.
- Extensive experience (minimum 10 years) in conflict negotiation and resolution, including experience dealing with difficult customers and navigating challenging situations.
- Demonstrated ability (minimum 10 years) to share ownership and drive results collaboratively as part of a team, focusing on purpose, value, and outcomes rather than just solutions.
- Proven track record (minimum 10 years) of connecting strategy to execution and demonstrating strong strategic thinking capabilities.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in product line planning, development, and management.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Business Relationship Management Professional (BRMP) certification is highly desired.

- Local candidates are required due to the onsite requirements of this position.
- The first round of interviews will be conducted via Microsoft Teams.
- The second round of interviews will be conducted onsite in Herndon, Virginia. Only candidates who can interview onsite will be considered; no exceptions will be made.
- This position requires the selected candidate to work onsite two (2) days per week and remotely three (3) days per week.
