Job Title: Supply Chain Technologies Architect

Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid - 3 days in office; relocation required within 3 months of conversion)

Office Locations: Mundelein (initial), Northbrook (starting June)

Employment Type: Contract to Hire

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Supply Chain Technologies Architect to design and implement scalable supply chain solutions, with a focus on WMS, TMS, ERP integrations, and cloud modernization. This role acts as a trusted advisor to both business and IT leadership, defining roadmaps, guiding development teams, and driving modernization initiatives through cloud and automation best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Technology Roadmap: Collaborate with business and IT leaders to define the supply chain technology roadmap, ensuring alignment with strategic business goals.
• Executive Advising: Partner with executive stakeholders to drive business and operational decisions through innovative technology solutions.
• Solution Architecture: Apply architectural principles and best practices to guide solution development across WMS, TMS, ERP, and Cloud platforms.
• Technology Evaluation: Assess and recommend technologies that enhance efficiency, scalability, and competitiveness.
• Compliance & Security: Ensure solutions adhere to enterprise security, resiliency, and governance standards.

Required Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: 7+ years in IT Architecture, Solution Design, or Enterprise Architecture within large, complex enterprises.
• Cloud Expertise: Proven experience designing cloud-native architectures using Azure (preferred), AWS, or GCP.
• Application Integration: Strong experience with API gateways, middleware, event-driven architectures, and application integrations.
• Leadership & Execution: Ability to guide development teams, craft technology roadmaps, and oversee execution.

Technical Skills & Knowledge:

• Designing application architectures for cloud environments (Azure preferred; AWS/GCP beneficial).
• Expertise in modern integration patterns, including REST/SOAP APIs, message-driven/event-driven architectures, and legacy batch processing.
• Experience with Azure PaaS, Kubernetes, serverless computing, and cloud-native application development.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a creative, innovation-driven mindset.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Deep expertise in Supply Chain & Logistics Technologies, including WMS, TMS, ERP, SCM, and Order Management Systems.
• Proven track record of successful global/regional supply chain technology implementations (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Manhattan, Blue Yonder).
• Experience with warehouse automation, IoT-enabled logistics, or AI/ML-driven supply chain optimization.
• Corporate experience required – not seeking candidates with only startup backgrounds.

Work Arrangement:

• Hybrid: 3 days in-office per week (Chicago area).
• Relocation Requirement: Remote initially, but must relocate to Chicago within 3 months of conversion.
