Job Description

As Barikat Group we are seeking a skilled Information Systems Security Engineer to support security accreditation and assurance processes for mission-critical systems within our client’s organization in Belgium. This role involves collaborating with technical teams to ensure the secure deployment, ongoing compliance, and resilience of communication and information systems, ensuring their integrity in a dynamic, multi-domain environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the implementation of cybersecurity policies, standards, and controls across managed systems,
• Coordinate and document security accreditation activities, including risk assessments and compliance evidence,
• Provide expert input to engineering teams on secure system design, cloud adoption, and DevSecOps practices,
• Facilitate and support technical security testing such as vulnerability assessments and penetration testing,
• Monitor cybersecurity posture and generate reports based on defined performance indicators.
• Interface with stakeholders to resolve security requirement conflicts and translate them into secure service delivery.

Requirements

• A university degree in MIS, Computer Engineering or related fields and at least 3 years of relevant experience,
• Proven experience with system and network security architecture, including policy alignment and risk management,
• Familiarity with cloud computing environments and associated security practices (AWS, Azure, or others).
• Working knowledge of containerized applications (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and modern DevSecOps tools and pipelines.
• Experience with industry-standard security tools such as Nessus, NMAP, endpoint protection platforms (e.g., Microsoft Defender, Tanium), and patch management systems.
• Understanding of security frameworks such as ISO/IEC 27001, NIST, or CVSS v2/v3 scoring.
• Excellent communication skills, including technical documentation and stakeholder coordination.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CCSP, or Cloud Security Knowledge) are a strong asset.
• Fluent in English; able and willing to travel within Europe and occasionally beyond.
