We are looking for an Information Security Expert to join our client's team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing IT security operations, managing security team activities, and coordinating with security engineers. You will implement security policies, develop protocols and processes, and address IT security risks both at a technical and organizational level. Additionally, you will supervise security operations, ensure compliance with security regulations, and support audit processes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee IT security operations and coordinate activities within the Security Operations Center (SOC).
• Manage threat and vulnerability assessments, identify risks, and propose mitigation strategies.
• Lead security incident management, including detection, response, and reporting.
• Monitor and improve IT security controls to ensure compliance with policies, legal, and regulatory requirements.
• Provide expert guidance on IT security best practices and ensure security considerations are integrated into IT projects.
• Support the audit process and contribute to compliance reporting.
• Develop and implement security awareness training and initiatives.
• Mentor and coach IT security staff to enhance team capabilities.
  
  
  

The Ideal Candidate

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, or at least 5 years of experience in IT security within an international environment.
• Professional security certification (e.g., CISMP) is a plus.
• Strong expertise in IT security technologies, including:
• Access control, vulnerability management, and data loss prevention.
• Web security, anti-malware solutions, and intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS).
• IT networks and system administration.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure.
• Strong risk-based prioritization and decision-making capabilities.
• Effective communicator, capable of collaborating with teams, external providers, and internal stakeholders.
• Team player with a hands-on mentality.
• Fluent in English; knowledge of Dutch is an advantage.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Willingness to travel regularly, primarily within Europe.
• Familiarity with legal and regulatory security frameworks, such as SOX, HIPAA, GDPR, or J-SOX.
• Experience in security testing, project management, and risk analysis.
• Strong analytical skills to evaluate security threats and implement appropriate controls.
