Brief Description
POSITION SUMMARY: The Information Security Engineer I helps keep the organization’s systems secure by managing security tools, responding to security alerts, and working with other teams to solve issues and improve protections. This role focuses on day-to-day security operations and finding ways to make processes more efficient and effective.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Operate, maintain, and support enterprise security technologies to ensure optimal performance and availability.
- Respond to and triage Level 1 and Level 2 security incidents. Collaborate with senior security engineers to identify root causes, contain threats, and implement remediation steps.
- Execute changes and deploy security configurations in accordance with change management processes and organizational standards.
- Evaluate and recommend improvements to security operations processes, tooling, and KPIs. Actively contribute ideas for automation and efficiency.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for all supported security systems and procedures.
- Collaborate closely with Infrastructure, Networking, and Cloud teams to align security objectives, share insights, and ensure cross-functional support.
- Provide clear, concise updates and weekly status reports to Information Security leadership.
- Partner with the Security Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) team to support security policy enforcement, risk remediation, and compliance efforts.

Requirements
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
Candidates should demonstrate hands-on experience working with a range of modern security toolsets, including:
- Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) platforms for log analysis and alert correlation
- Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) and Extended Detection and Response (XDR) tools for threat monitoring and remediation
- Vulnerability Management systems for scanning and reporting on system and application exposures
- Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) and Cloud Workload Protection Platforms (CWPP) for hybrid cloud environments
- Identity and Access Management (IAM) frameworks, including privileged access, MFA, and conditional access controls
- Data Loss Prevention (DLP) solutions to enforce data classification and prevent unauthorized data exposure.
Minimum Knowledge And Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field preferred. Equivalent practical experience will be considered.
- Solid understanding of network protocols, system administration concepts, and troubleshooting in hybrid (on-prem/cloud) environments.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to clearly communicate security issues and technical details to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently and within a collaborative team structure.
Essential Functions
- Ability to report to work in person and to attend work-related functions/activities.
- Ability to work at a desk and use a computer for extended periods.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move objects up to 10 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to occasionally travel as required.
- Ability to type and utilize various software programs efficiently and operate general office equipment.
- Ability to work in an office setting with moderate noise levels.
- Additional physical demands include, but may not be limited to, frequent talking or hearing, occasional push/pull, stoop/kneel, bend/twist, and reach to retrieve or move items in a typical office environment.
- Must be able to work scheduled hours and overtime as needed.
- Hybrid or remote work arrangements:
- This role has been designated as a Hybrid role, which gives employees the opportunity to work from home on Mondays and Fridays and working in the office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
