Summary

Role Title: Information Architect


Local Peoples is seeking enthusiastic and talented Information Architects in the ACT to join our team as embedded members with our prestigious Government client. As an Information Architect, you will drive key elements of our client’s Information Management Strategy. This includes enhancing governance, technical, and operational foundations to maximise the value of information assets.

You will collaborate closely with senior leadership, stakeholders, and technical teams to ensure the efficient creation, management, and utilisation of information resources. Join us and play a crucial role in exciting projects directly alongside government clients.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop the Agency’s information management strategy and design information architecture to improve information discovery and enhance the Records Management Program.
  • Apply a strong understanding of Information Management Principles, including knowledge of NAA (National Archives of Australia) and ANAO (Australian National Audit Office) record-keeping policies.
  • Support the Intranet Redevelopment initiative by managing content categories and ensuring efficient content lifecycle management.
  • Drive metadata management initiatives related to Information Governance and Data Governance to strengthen the Agency’s information ecosystem.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and establish enterprise information models and standards.
  • Conduct workshops and engage with a diverse range of stakeholders to ensure alignment on information management and governance goals.
  • Provide guidance to ICT initiatives, ensuring alignment of project data models with enterprise standards and frameworks.
  • Advise and assist project teams in maintaining logical and physical data models for effective information management.
  • Contribute to the Enterprise Architecture practice, with experience or formal training in frameworks such as TOGAF being highly regarded.
  • Train and mentor junior staff members, promoting a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
  • Support the development and enhancement of Information Governance Frameworks and Data Management Frameworks across the Agency.


Required Qualifications:

  • A tertiary qualification in Data Management, Information Management, Business Intelligence, Data Science, or a related field.
  • At least 7+ years of relevant working experience in developing comprehensive information architecture within complex organisational environments.
  • Strong experience in record-keeping practices, including practical application of NAA and ANAO guidelines.
  • Advanced proficiency in data modelling and ETL processes, along with a strong understanding of data governance principles and best practices.
  • Demonstrated expertise in metadata management, information governance, and data governance.
  • Extensive experience serving as a Data Architect or Information Architect within large, complex government organisations.
  • Proven track record of successful stakeholder engagement and collaboration, particularly with senior executives and leaders.
  • Exceptional leadership abilities, with outstanding engagement, training, and communication skills.
  • Experience conducting workshops and engaging with a large variety of stakeholders.
  • Experience mentoring or training junior staff to build capability within teams.
  • Good teamwork skills and ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment are essential.


Desired Skill:

  • A formal qualification in Enterprise Architecture (e.g., TOGAF) is highly regarded.


Residency and Clearance

  • Hold a current AGSVA NV1 clearance
  • Australian Citizen
