The Role

Applied Products Thermal Products Group is looking for a motivated Industrial Territory Manager for Western Wisconsin and Minnesota.

The right candidate will be a technical salesperson located in the territory with a preferred background or experience in electrical and/or mechanical disciplines. This position requires a commitment to closing customer problems and presenting yourself as a “solutions provider” You will be representing and working with the recognized industry leader in electric heat tracing in a newly acquired territory with lots of opportunity for growth.

You must live in the territory to be considered for this position. Minneapolis, MN., St. Paul, MN., or the surrounding suburbs are preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain strong relationships within the industrial industry to grow sales.
  • Educate and train end users, contractors, and engineering while helping drive specifications for industrial projects.
  • Responsible for prospecting and building a successful sales strategy in this market to win business.
  • Build out strategic distribution channels within the territory.
  • Interface effectively with key suppliers, owners, contractors, engineers, and stakeholders.
  • Partner with customers to assist in execution of heat trace designs.
  • Responsible for the full sales cycle.
  • Perform project takeoffs, estimates and proposals.
  • Sell engineered drawing packages and turnkey construction services to clients.
  • Assist in project management including construction schedules, procurement, and commissioning support.
  • Support and adhere to all safety procedures and complete all required safety training.
  • Identify and support improvement opportunities for processes to support company objectives and customer expectations.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery.
  • Able to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.

Experience And Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor degree required.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of Industrial sales or construction experience required.
  • Understanding of industrial construction including budget planning, bid proposals project buyout and execution.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce preferred but not required.
  • Understanding of Rep/Distributor/Customer Relationship.
  • Effectively build relationships with new customers and maintain key accounts once established.
  • Well organized, process and data driven, logical thought-process, the ability to make decisions and act on them.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels within an organization, build and manage relationships, and demonstrate resilience and ability to handle difficult situations with a positive “can do” attitude. Also, proven experience & ability to work.
  • Travel within the territory is required.
