RDS has an excellent opportunity for an entry level warehouse position with opportunities for advancement. Initial tasks include the sorting and separation of recyclable products to ensure quality. Learning how to take care of the process machinery and understanding our products line will come naturally to the right individual. As you progress there will be a chance to learn to operate various machinery around the facility which will lead to opportunities for advancement as an equipment operator. Must be dependable, on time, and have transportation to our facility. Prior warehouse experience preferred but not necessary. No experience necessary as we will provide training. Job description Overview A Sorter Operator is an individual who aids plant staff in preparing material for processing, baling, inventorying, and shipment. A Sorter is familiar or can become familiar with a fast-paced manufacturing environment and works safely. Duties and Responsibilities Segregating various materials including cardboard, paper, plastic, and aluminum in a fast-paced environment. Keeping the plant and areas clean of debris. Clean equipment a needed. Maintain a reliable attendance record. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. Must be flexible Skills and Specifications Excellent teamwork skills. Good communication skills. Ability to stand for 8 or more hours with the occasional need to bend or squat. Ability to operate in a high speed and fast-paced environment. Ability to lift 75 pounds repeatedly. Able to follow instructions as directed by the supervisor. Ability to work in hot and cold environments. Education and Qualifications High School diploma or GED preferred GA/NC/VA driver's license preferred Knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions associated with this position. Knowledge and experience in an industrial environment. OSHA or other related safety training is also an advantage. Reports to Plant Manager and/or General Manager
