Job Description
As an Implementation Engineer, you will design, deploy and fine-tune Industrial IoT architectures at the edge. You’ll work on our pioneering Smart Grid solutions and the Helin Platform, ensuring clients in the renewable-energy and maritime sectors extract maximum value from their assets. This hands-on position combines remote configuration with on-site visits (NL & EU) for deployment, troubleshooting and training. You will also produce high-quality documentation to support both internal teams and end users.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-End Deployment: Lead implementation of IoT solutions across solar, geothermal and maritime sites
- Hardware & Software Integration: Configure sensors, gateways, edge collectors and cloud pipelines
- On-Site Support: Install devices, apply firmware updates, configure networks and resolve technical difficulties
- Data Validation: Verify and optimize data flows from edge to cloud
- Documentation & Training: Create architecture diagrams, runbooks and user guides; hand over to Support
- Continuous Improvement: Gather field feedback and share lessons learned through demos and retrospectives
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Electrical/Control-Systems Engineering or related discipline
- 3+ years’ hands-on experience in software implementation or technical support roles
- Proven ability to deliver cross-functional technical projects
- Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting skills
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals and industrial protocols (e.g., MQTT, OPC UA)
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure)
- Excellent diagnostic skills for both hardware and software systems
- Fluent English (written and verbal)
- Permanent work permit for the Netherlands
- Willingness to travel abroad, including offshore and maritime locations
Preferred Skills
- Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Automation scripting (Python, Bash)
- Experience in maritime or renewable-energy industries
