Job Title: HVAC Technician
Reports to: Lead HVAC Technician
Dept/School: Maintenance
Work Year: 250 days
Base Salary: Actual salary will be calculated based on experience.
Primary Purpose
To provide support to the Maintenance Department by tracking and processing the maintenance requests and completing preventative maintenance of departmental equipment and facilities related to HVAC and refrigeration equipment.
Education/Certification
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or GED
EPA Certification
Valid Texas Driver License and driving record that is insurable with FISD insurance carrier
Special Knowledge/Skills
Ability to repair and perform preventative maintenance on all HVAC equipment
Ability to lift 75 pounds
Ability to prioritize emergency service needs within the department
Ability to handle multiple tasks and work effectively with frequent interruptions
Ability to work well with others
Experience
Minimum of 1 year of experience in HVAC maintenance
Major Responsibilities And Duties
Complete routine conditioning and servicing of installed air refrigeration systems and components including: compressors, condensers, valves, coils, cooling towers, heat pumps, motors, belts, bearings, fans, filters, piping, wiring, control systems thermostats, ducting, heat exchangers, pumps, water source heat pumps, actuators and other appurtenances.
Flexible to work on-call to address emergencies that occur during non-business hours as needed.
Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctioning systems and components.
Perform replacement of major and minor parts, components or entire systems.
Maintain a professional appearance, attitude and demeanor when interacting with school personnel and the public.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Lead HVAC Technician.
