WORK SCHEDULE


  • 100% FTE
  • Monday – Friday; 6:55am - 3:25pm
  • Day Shift DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION UW Medical Center Operations & Maintenance Department provided services include: 24-hour service call and operations coverage; emergency response to utility disruptions; repairs to building ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, heating, plumbing, architectural, electrical and lighting systems; preventive maintenance; planning and coordination of utility system shutdowns. POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
  • Install, modify, troubleshoot, test, repair, calibrate and operate mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and electronic equipment and apparatuses used in heating, ventilating, air-conditioning, and refrigeration systems
  • Support patient care and maintenance of a healing environment at the No. 1 hospital in Seattle and Washington State PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Maintain positive and negative differential pressures, CDC recommended ACH within Operating rooms, Operating room core, Central Processing Utilities, Isolation rooms, soiled utility rooms, clean utilities rooms, inpatient pharmacy, outpatient pharmacy, transfusion services, laboratories and all adjoining and adjacent spaces
  • Install and service mechanical pneumatic electrical and electronic temperature and humidity controls for heating and ventilation systems throughout hospital
  • Maintain shop stock of temperature controls, valves, and related parts for repair and installation of electrical, mechanical, electronic and pneumatic control systems
  • Use tools such as drill presses, grinders, band saws, hand drills, soldering guns, flow hoods, small hand tools and specialized apparatuses REQUIREMENTS
  • 4-year approved institution course as HVAC Control Technician Trainee;
  • Or 4 years of applicable experience in installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical and pneumatic control systems
  • Vocational or trade school training in control mechanisms may be substituted, year-for-year, for work experience up to a maximum of two years
