PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Employment: Includes job requisition process; sourcing and recruitment; selection; hiring and orientation of new hires; performance evaluations; promotions, demotions and transfers; affirmative action/equal opportunity reporting; and conducting exit interviews
* Lead recruiting and hiring process, which includes job posts, reviewing resumes, telephone screenings of applicants, scheduling interviews and performing reference checks
Inform job applicants of job duties, responsibilities, benefits, schedules, working conditions, etc.
Utilize HRIS to ensure new hire information is completed and processed. Process all Personnel Action Forms (PAFs) and ensure proper approval and accurate entry into HRIS
* Conduct New Hire orientation - including mandatory compliance trainings; ensure an on-boarding schedule is planned for new hires; distribute new hire email notices
Ensures accuracy in job requirements and job descriptions for all positions
* Coordinate and implement projects that support HR activities and programs, working with department heads and managers to ensure that staffing, compensation, benefits, training and quality measures are tracked for staff and reported to CQI Committee
* Explain and answer employee questions related to human resources policies and procedures, laws and standards to existing and new employees. Process employees' queries and respond in a timely manner
* Participates in developing new policies, procedures and programs. Stay up to date and comply with changes in labor legislation
Employee Relations: Includes addressing employee morale, problems and complaints; work performance and conduct; safety and security; conflicts of interest; discipline and terminations
* Assist with handling, processing and resolving employee complaints with composure and confidentiality.
Benefits Administration: Understands employee benefits programs and informs employees of benefits directing the processing of benefit claims; designing and conducting orientation programs on benefits programs; includes administering leave policies; medical and/or pension and other fringe benefits; unemployment; workers' compensation; and reasonable accommodation for persons with disabilities
* Coordinate health, life and disability insurance enrollments and communicate with service providers concerning routine administration of programs
* Review benefits enrollment forms for accuracy and coordinate enrollment with third-party administrator
Departmental Administration: Work directly with and report to the Human Resources Director regarding all HR areas. Ensure that all Center personnel policies and practices are current and relevant, and clearly communicated to staff
* Monitor and implement applicable human resource federal and state requirements; conducting investigations; maintaining records
* Maintain management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures
* Maintain human resource records through a filing and retrieval system; keeping past and current records
* Perform all other projects and duties as assigned by the HR Director and or his/her designee.
Bachelor's Degree and previous experience in Human Resources administration in community healthcare or healthcare environment preferred; or Associate's degree and 4+ years of previous experience in Human Resources administration. Human Resources certification preferred;
Work experience in Human Resources with a strong knowledge of HR functions and procedures (e.g. pay and benefits, recruitment, training and development);
* Incumbent must have excellent written and verbal communication skills;
* Must possess strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail and accuracy with time management skills;
* Must able to handle multiple tasks and adhere to deadlines;
* Must have a pleasant telephone manner and tactfulness when dealing with people;
* Must be flexible, dependable and a quick learner. Commitment to confidentiality, ethics and reliability needed in HR Administration;
* Must be proficient in MS Office Suite, HRIS and office systems;
* Should be mission driven and be able to function as a team player.
