Plant HR Manager
Location: Windsor, ON
Schedule: Full-time | Days | On-site
Role Overview:
We're seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to lead and support a broad range of HR functions at an operational facility. This leadership role will focus on building strong partnerships with plant management, driving employee engagement, maintaining compliance, and aligning HR strategies with overall business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Employee Relations & Culture
● Act as a strategic advisor to leadership on workforce planning, engagement, and employee relations.
● Manage conflict resolution, investigations, and disciplinary actions in accordance with internal policies and legislative requirements.
● Promote a positive workplace culture through engagement initiatives, open communication, and recognition programs.
● Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance in all HR processes and employee documentation.
Recruitment & Onboarding
● Lead recruitment planning, including job postings, screening, and coordination with hiring managers.
● Manage onboarding, orientation, and offboarding processes to ensure a positive employee experience.
● Collaborate with department heads to forecast hiring needs and implement effective recruitment strategies.
● Support cooperative education and employee conversion programs.
● Liaise with external hiring partners when needed.
Performance Management & Development
● Support performance appraisal processes, guiding supervisors in goal-setting and performance improvement planning.
● Coordinate training and development sessions, ensuring content is relevant and accessible.
● Mentor and coach HR team members and front-line leaders to foster high performance and service quality.
Compensation, Benefits & Compliance
● Assist with the administration of compensation structures, benefit programs, and employee incentives.
● Support compliance with workplace safety regulations and the Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA).
● Contribute to policy development and well-being programs that meet employee and business needs.
Data, Reporting & Continuous Improvement
● Monitor HR metrics (e.g., turnover, engagement, training ROI) and develop reports and dashboards for leadership.
● Analyze data to identify trends, areas of improvement, and inform strategic HR decisions.
● Conduct internal audits and recommend enhancements to HR policies, practices, and systems.
● Champion continuous improvement initiatives across all HR operational functions.
Qualifications:
● Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
● Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience, ideally within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
● In-depth knowledge of Ontario labour legislation and compliance standards.
● Proficient in Microsoft Office and HR systems.
● Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
● Ability to work collaboratively across departments and levels of the organization.
