Role Summary/Purpose:
The Human Resource Manager role will lead routine functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including Talent Acquisition, Employee Relations, Employee Engagement, Performance Management and Compliance while partnering with cross-functional teams and leaders to provide HR guidance.
Essential Responsibilities:
· Partners with HR Leader to understand and execute the organization’s human resource strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
· Manages the talent acquisition process, which includes recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants, collaborating with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
· Provides support and guidance to HR generalist, management, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise ensuring consistent application and integration of policies and procedures promoting an ethical and compliant work environment.
· Administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as performance management and development, reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, overseeing employee disciplinary meetings and terminations.
· Participates in the creation of learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.
· Partners with site HR Leader to execute HR strategies and drive cultural initiatives and transformation across the site.
· Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
· Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Competencies:
· Bachelor's Degree preferably in Human Resources, Psychology, or related discipline (or a high school graduate/GED or equivalent with at least 6 years of relevant work experience)
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
· Strong influencing skills; confidence to approach employees and managers with difficult messages and defend position; equally, confidence to advocate strongly for employees
· Excellent organizational skills, prioritization and attention to detail.
· Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision, consistently taking the initiative to get things done
· Strong problem-solving skills: ability to make independent decisions and execute deliverables in a timely manner
· Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
· Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
· Applies solid judgment ensuring integrity, compliance, & confidentiality
· Sound knowledge of current federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations
· Must be a US Citizen or US Permanent resident
