Summary

We are seeking a hands-on and experienced Human Resource Manager to lead and manage the HR function for our growing small business. This role is ideal for a strategic yet practical HR professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys wearing multiple hats. The ideal candidate will have prior supervisory experience, a solid HR generalist background, and a passion for supporting and developing people.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all HR-related matters, including employee relations, benefits administration, and performance management.
  • Oversee and manage the full employee lifecycle: recruitment, onboarding, development, retention, and offboarding.
  • Supervise and provide guidance to support staff or HR assistants as needed.
  • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures in compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
  • Maintain and update employee records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Coordinate employee training and development initiatives to support team and business growth.
  • Advise leadership on organizational structure, workforce planning, and employee engagement strategies.
  • Manage payroll processing in collaboration with Finance/Payroll service providers.
  • Lead annual performance review process and assist with goal setting.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and productive work environment aligned with company culture and values.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to build trust and effectively resolve employee issues with discretion and professionalism.
  • Experience in a small business or entrepreneurial setting is a plus.
  • HR certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) preferred but not required.
