Description Job Overview: The Human Resources Manager provides both strategic and day-to-day primary human resources functions to support 600+ associates, managers and executives in the Twin Cities metro area. Responsibilities include employee relations, payroll budgets and compensation analysis, workers compensation and safety program management, exempt level recruitment, and oversight of HR operations, policies and procedures. Your Responsibilities: The job duties listed are typical examples of the work performed by positions in this job classification. Not all duties assigned to every position are included, nor is it expected that all positions will be assigned every duty. * Accountability for servicing customers with a focus on the values of FirstService Residential: Do What's Right, Own It, Improve It, Aim High, Build Great Relationships, and Be Genuinely Helpful * Partners with HR Director on all aspects of HR from administrative, legal, change management, and strategy. * Oversee HR operations, policies and procedures, ensuring comprehensive and accuracy of HRIS and employee related data and files. * Actively recruit and assist in onboarding of exempt level roles in coordination with the hiring manager, including posting positions, screening resumes, conducting phone and in-person interviews. * Provide counsel and guidance to managers and associates to effectively address associate engagement, employment-related issues, and move inquiries toward resolution while balancing group needs with HR guidelines and policies. * Support supervisors and executives with associate disciplinary documents, including but not limited to coaching conversations, verbal warnings, written warnings, action plans and investigations. * Manage safety program; including workers compensation, quarterly safety meetings, trainings and initiatives, serve as liaison to third-party safety consultant organization. * Assist in performance management process including midyear touch points, training, communications, annual performance reviews and tracking. * Manage the client payroll budget process; providing reports, guidance and total compensation analysis and recommendations for annual and off-cycle pay adjustments. * Provide training on HR policies and procedures as needed for new and existing associates. * Assist in all HR matters as they relate to Gittleman construction and maintenance. * Utilizing reporting tools and metrics, derives insights, analysis and subsequent recommendations to support HR departmental and business needs. * Participate and represent HR on various cross-functional teams and meetings. * Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance. * Work directly with National Shared Services Center for escalated inquiries regarding payroll and withholdings, benefit enrollment or provider questions, and HRIS administration including audits, reporting and compliance requirements * Support local and national Human Resources and business initiatives with assigned projects, process improvements, and best practices * Provide oversight and backup as needed to bi-weekly payroll, including special entries, audits, final preview and approval. * Serve as a backup for Human Resources Director on oversight of HR team. Additional Duties & Responsibilities: * Practice and adhere to FirstService Residential Global Service Standards. * Conduct business at all times with the highest standards of personal, professional and ethical conduct. * Perform any range of special projects, tasks and other related duties as assigned Skills & Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or other closely-related field * 5-8 years of progressive Human Resources experience required * Experience with HRIS (ADP) reporting and configuration preferred * PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred * Good communication (verbal and written), interpersonal and presentation skills * Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet critical deadlines * Strong attention to detail required * Ability to respond positively to changing circumstances, seek and implement change to drive business improvement; serve as a change agent required * Proven employee relations and active listening skills * Ability to interact with all levels within and across the organization * Proficient in all aspects of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) required Supervisory Responsibilities: Serve as a backup for Human Resources Director on oversight of HR team.
