Job Summary
We are looking for a talented HR Generalist who has a deep passion for creating amazing employee experience for our staff. In this role, you will work closely with other HR colleagues and company leadership to provide HR support to all studios across HMC. This position will have the opportunity to work in several areas of HR including compensation, benefits administration, employee relations, learning and development/training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment/talent acquisition, HRIS data maintenance/analytics, compliance, and employment law. Successful candidates must possess strong analytical, data base and influencing skills, as well as a positive team-focused mentality.
This position is located HMC’s corporate office in Ontario, California. The position requires 3 days in the office and the ability to work from home Mondays and Fridays.
Position Responsibilities
- Maintain and update employee records in the HRIS system
- Generate standard and ad hoc HR reports to support audits, leadership decision-making, and workforce planning.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of HR dashboards using tools like Excel or Power BI.
- Coordinate and schedule interviews, new hire orientations, training sessions, and other HR-related meetings.
- Support the recruitment process by posting job ads, screening resumes, coordinating interviews, and facilitating onboarding.
- Assist with the development and rollout of training and development initiatives, including tracking attendance and collecting feedback.
- Administer employee benefits and compensation programs, and act as a liaison with benefit providers to resolve employee questions.
- Provide guidance to employees on HR policies, procedures, and programs, escalating complex issues when necessary.
- Participate in social committees, help plan events.
- Support performance management processes, including review cycle coordination and tracking completion.
- Assist with HR communications such as intranet updates, and announcements.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations; update policies as needed.
- Conduct new hire orientations and assist with offboarding processes, including exit interviews and final paperwork.
- Support HR audits and ensure timely completion of required reporting (e.g., EEO-1, ACA).
- Collaborate with payroll to ensure timely and accurate processing of employee changes and pay-related updates.
- Continuously seek ways to improve HR processes and systems for greater efficiency and employee satisfaction.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business or related field; HR certification preferred
- Minimum four years of professional experience in HR, preferably in a corporate office environment or a professional services firm
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint abilities are a must, do not apply if you do not possess strong Excel skills
- Database knowledge and some coding highly preferred, such as SQL basics for simple queries, or basic HTML/CSS knowledge
- Experience with people analytics and data visualization tools, such as PowerBI is preferred
- Advanced knowledge of HRIS systems such as Paylocity or other HR systems
- Experience with employee engagement software
- Knowledge of and experience in creating/editing websites, database
- Excellent writing skills with some experience with drafting employee communications
- Emotional intelligence - high decorum, self-awareness, and professionalism
- Understanding of California-based employment law and the applicability to HR polices.
- High attention to detail and quality of work
The salary range for this position is $65,591 - $98,550
The actual offered salary for this position will vary depending on multiple factors including the candidate’s qualification, education, position knowledge, work experience, skills, ability, work location, and internal incumbent compensation for similar roles. We do not anticipate individuals hired into this position will start at or near the top half of the range listed; the decision will be based on each individual case. The salary range listed above does not include other compensation elements such as discretionary bonus opportunities, employee stock ownership grants, paid time off, medical insurance, and other wage and benefit opportunities.
