About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and mission-driven Human Resources Director to lead the client's HR and administration functions. This person will play a key role in building the culture, systems, and infrastructure that will enable the school to thrive. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a deep understanding of Singapore employment laws, a people-first mindset, and a passion for education.


Key Responsibilities


Strategic HR Leadership

  • Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the school’s mission and business
  • objectives.
  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, and talent development for both local and international staff.
  • Oversee HR compliance with Singapore employment laws, including EP applications and work
  • pass regulations.


Operations & Compliance

  • Design and manage performance appraisal systems that drive continuous professional
  • growth.
  • Ensure robust employee relations practices including grievance handling, workplace safety,
  • and fair treatment.
  • Lead policy development on compensation, benefits, DEI, and employee wellness.


People & Culture

  • Foster a values-driven culture that supports collaboration, innovation, and staff well-being.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the leadership team on org design, succession planning, and
  • workforce development.
  • Guide and mentor a small HR/admin team, developing internal capabilities and a strong service culture.


Administrative Oversight

  • Manage employee records, payroll, HRIS, and compliance reporting.
  • Oversee office administrative functions as needed.
  • Monitor HR budgets and resource planning for scalability.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, Law, or a related field (postgraduate or HR certifications
  • are a plus).
  • Minimum 7 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Solid understanding of Singapore labor regulations, especially related to education and
  • expatriate hiring.
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven experience in performance management, compensation design, and organisational
  • development.
  • Proficiency in HR systems and data-driven HR practices.
  • Fluency in English; Mandarin is a plus for liaising with regional stakeholders.
