Are you a strategic HR leader ready to make a real impact?

At Behavioral Innovations (BI), we’re on a mission to change the lives of children with autism—and we know it takes a strong, people-first culture to do that well. We’re seeking a Director of Human Resources to lead our field HR function and shape the future of how we support our most valuable asset: our people. Our company employs nearly 3,000 people across multiple states and is focused on aggressive growth and expansion. Our corporate Home Office is located in Addison, TX, supporting over 90 centers across multiple states.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment and brings a mix of operational discipline, coaching finesse, and a proactive approach to HR leadership.

Position Summary:

As a key member of the BI team, the Director of Human Resources is responsible for overseeing all field HR functions including employee relations, engagement, retention, HR policy development, and HRIS systems integration. This role serves as the right hand to the Chief People Officer and supports corporate departments and Home Office staff. The HRD leads with attention to detail, data-driven decision-making, and a commitment to building a proactive and strategic HR team that operates with excellence and accountability. The HRD will report directly to the Chief People Officer and will be responsible for supervising our HR Generalists and Regional HR Business Partner

Expectations & What You'll Do:

  • Serve as the senior-most leader over Field Human Resources and provide strategic guidance to HRBPs and HR Generalists.
  • Ensure detailed, accurate, and compliant HR operations through audits, oversight of documentation, and attention to procedural integrity.
  • Lead the design and implementation of HR processes and policies, including employee relations, engagement initiatives, and retention strategies.
  • Guide and mentor HR team members to shift from tactical execution to proactive, forward-thinking HR leadership.
  • Oversee HRIS integration efforts, ensuring successful data migration, system adoption, and user training during the software transition.
  • Review findings from employee relations investigations and provide legally sound recommendations to field leaders and the Chief People Officer.
  • Partner with outside legal counsel as needed on complex HR matters, including compliance, investigations, and terminations.
  • Collaborate with vendors to support third-party administered HR programs while maintaining internal process ownership.
  • Provide HR support to Home Office teams and corporate leaders by offering policy guidance, conflict resolution, and strategic people insights.
  • Monitor HR metrics and trends to guide continuous improvement initiatives and field-level execution plans.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What Success Looks Like:

We don’t just talk about results—we measure them. Here’s how you’ll know you’re winning in this role:

  • Policy compliance stays above 95% across all field HR audits, including personnel files, I-9s, and investigations.
  • New HRIS platform is fully implemented and adopted by the HR team and field leaders with minimal disruption.
  • Employee turnover is reduced through targeted retention initiatives and improved HRBP support in the field.
  • Field HR data accuracy exceeds 95%, ensuring every job change, record update, and personnel action is right the first time.
  • Annual HR policy updates are rolled out on schedule with supporting communication and training for both field and corporate teams.
  • Quarterly coaching and development plans are executed for each team member, strengthening strategic capabilities across the HR department.
  • Strong partnerships are built with field and home office leaders, grounded in trust, transparency, and accountability.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 7+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role overseeing an HR team in a multi-site environment.
  • Deep knowledge of employee relations, policy development, and organizational compliance.
  • Demonstrated success in HRIS integration and leveraging HR analytics to drive decision-making (Dayforce or similar experience preferred).
  • Strong attention to detail with a track record of holding self and team accountable for accuracy, consistency, and follow-through.
