Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented, proactive, and compassionate Human Resources Coordinator to support the HR team and contribute to the administrative operations of the organization. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing HR support to staff, supporting student placements, and ensuring that administrative processes run smoothly. This position combines traditional HR coordination with office administration, including inventory management, office logistics, and employee support.
Responsibilities
Human Resources Coordination:
- Assist with the full employee life cycle, including onboarding, job changes, offboarding, and employee file management
- Provide support on HR policies, collective agreement interpretation, and employment legislation
- Coordinate and track internal and external training (e.g., First Aid, Fire Prevention, Equity Training)
- Assist with ADP Workforce Now, including HR, Onboarding, and Recruitment modules
- Maintain and update employee records in HRIS; generate reports and track metrics as needed
- Coordinate and support student placements, including onboarding and liaising with placement supervisors and institutions
- Support employment equity, diversity, and inclusion efforts across the organization
- Assist with Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) activities, including agenda preparation, record keeping, and compliance tracking
- Coordinate and participate in staff appreciation events and wellness initiatives
Administrative & Office Support
- Liaise with the Office Manager/Executive Administrator to assist with various administrative projects and tasks as noted below
- Maintain office inventory and place orders for supplies and stationery
- Collect, sort, and distribute incoming and outgoing mail
- Assist with building access and security, including managing distribution and tracking of keys, fobs, and ID badges
- Coordinate distribution and tracking of company property such as laptops, mobile phones, and other devices
- Assist with the setup of new employee workstations in collaboration with IT and Operations teams
Qualifications
Other Duties as Assigned
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a similar HR or administrative role
- Strong working knowledge of employment legislation: Employment Standards Act, Human Rights Code, OHSA, AODA, WSIA, and Labour Relations Act
- Exposure to labour relations and understanding of collective agreements in unionized settings
- Experience with HRIS platforms, preferably ADP Workforce Now
- Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong interpersonal skills with a high level of discretion and confidentiality
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and anti-oppression frameworks
- Familiarity with social service or 24/7 residential care environments is an asset
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and business communication tools

This position works in the office and community. Sistering is a 24/7 operation, fast paced, intense environment.
