This role is responsible for supporting the daily execution and delivery of Human Resources core processes and initiatives. The main focus of this role is recruitment, University relations, policy application and interpretation, performance management, employee relations, onboarding, and compliance, but this role will also support multiple facets of our HR processes. This is a hybrid position with 2-3 days planned in the office and the remainder remote.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Support strategic recruitment across the Organization by revising job descriptions, posting positions, reviewing and interviewing candidates and finding creative ways to engage with THE best candidates
- Facilitate the onboarding and orientation process for all new hires by being the point of contact, setting up first day details, and working with internal and external partners to coordinate all new hire processes
- Support our team culture for our new hires by participating in the HR Orientation presentation and facilitating new hire onboarding
- Update our system processes to facilitate effective and efficient recruitment and the best candidate experience
- Lead university relation efforts, including university visits, career fairs, engagement with prospective student hires, and recruitment for the JWI internship program
- Assist with the JWI internship program management, including assigning mentors, recruitment, onboarding, orientation, intern assignments, and addressing questions
- Manage electronic document retention for employee records, conduct data audits, compile reports, and ensure system integrity
- Support year-end reporting and processes
- Maintain employee records in accordance with compliance requirements, including I-9 documentation
- Support the Affirmative Action plan and EEO regulations by filing annual reports, maintaining all records, reports, and logs, and coordinating required training
- Support the annual performance review and merit planning processes
- Process and act as the main point of contact for unemployment claims
- Assist employees with policy interpretation
- Ensure compliance with state and federal labor laws through communication, postings, and processes
- Perform other related duties as may be required and assigned
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field
- 0-3 years of experience in a Human Resources role
- Experience in a professional service, project management, or construction management organization is preferred
- General knowledge of federal and state employment laws
- Previous full-cycle recruitment experience or exposure is preferred
- Experience with an HRIS system, Paylocity experience preferred
- A self-directed, process-oriented individual with strong business acumen and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities within a team environment
- Excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills as well as analytical and problem-solving skills
- Highly proficient with Adobe, and Microsoft suite
- Must have a high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations
- Demonstrates exceptional analytical skills and ability to create useful and actionable reports from data
- Possess strong written and verbal communications skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to edit and proofread
- Shown ability to respond quickly and accurately to requests for data, and to provide excellent customer service
