HR Assistant needed for Hummel's Office Plus in Mohawk, NY.
Pay rate is $15.50 - $23.50 per hour based on experience.
Responsibilities
As our HR Assistant, youll play a vital role in supporting our HR team and making sure things run like clockwork. Every day will bring something a little different, some of your responsibilities will include:
Provide clerical and operational support to HR Manager; maintain confidentiality of employee records.
Process weekly payroll, commissions, and employee changes; maintain HRIS and generate reports.
Assist with employee benefits enrollment and recordkeeping, track personnel changes and reviews.
Support recruitment, new hire orientation, and job postings; update job descriptions and handle employee exits.
Manage employee records; assist with accident reports and training our management team on HR topics like supervisory skills and conflict resolution.
Help maintain employee handbooks and manuals, support performance evaluations and HR policy interpretation.
Support affirmative action and EEO compliance; assist with audits, reporting, workers compensation, disability, etc.; and workplace issue resolution.
May meet with supervisors and managers to determine effective remediation techniques, such as job skill training or personal intervention, to resolve human relations issues among personnel.
Ensure regulatory compliance; attend hearings, travel as needed, and coordinate company events.
Promote communication and address morale or productivity issues through meetings and informal feedback.
Other duties as assigned.
Position Objective
Our HR Assistant plays a key role in supporting the Human Resources Department by assisting in the administration of HR policies, procedures, and programs for all employees. This position is also responsible for essential functions such as processing payroll and coordinating new employee onboarding to ensure a smooth and positive experience.
What Were Looking For
Strong verbal & written communication skills.
Considerable knowledge of principles and practices of personnel administration.
Experience With ADP Payroll System Preferred.
Effective oral skills, and excellent interpersonal skills.
Must have a high level of proficiency with MS Office (Word/Excel).
Knowledge of all regulatory and legal standards; and understanding FMLA, ADA, HIPPA compliance preferred.
Ability to work in a team environment or independently, as well as decision-making skills.
Experience, Educational Background & Certifications
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification preferred.
Be fluent with Microsoft Applications.
Have great communication skills as this position interacts with other departments within the company as well as prospective candidates.
