Job Description The HSE Field Technician is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the safety of transportation operations within the organization. Their main duties involve developing, implementing, and enforcing safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. They monitor transportation practices to prevent accidents, maintain equipment safety standards, and manage safety training programs for drivers and other personnel. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBLITIES: * Observe and audit drivers loading, unloading, and driving to ensure compliance with all company safety and operations policies, and address driver concerns and safety findings with management team, * Visit each field site weekly to ensure the customer is providing a safe working environment, provide periodic JSA, and to interact with customer site personnel to ensure safe operations, * Provide and assist with training drivers and staff as needed on safety policy, best practices, safety topics, and operational procedures to ensure understanding, as well as assisting with instructor led orientation, * Inspect equipment (trucks and trailers) to DOT standard to minimize inspection deficiencies in the field * Respond to incidents and accidents to provide driver support, report findings/evidence, and help coordinate cleanup/recovery, * Monitor Samsara scoring and coach drivers on defensive driving habits, using the SMITH 5 keys as the basis, * Assist management in ensuring safety information is cascaded to drivers, and to provide feedback on possible SOP updates (as needed), * Attend safety meetings as needed, both in house and at customer sites, Job Requirements EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE High School Diploma Must have knowledge of crude oil business and CDL license preferred.
