Summary

As our company expands its operations in large-scale construction projects, we are seeking a committed and experienced HSE Coordinator / Advisor to support our sites located in Attica Region and Northern Greece. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in coordinating Health, Safety, and Environmental practices across all project activities, ensuring compliance, performance, and continuous improvement.

 

Role Overview

The HSE Coordinator / Advisor will be responsible for aligning project teams with the company’s HSE policies and legal obligations. You will act as a liaison between project management, field personnel, and subcontractors to ensure that safety is embedded in all operations. The role combines strategic planning, advisory input, and hands-on field coordination to support a proactive HSE culture on-site.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organize training programs to educate employees on safety protocols, emergency procedures, etc.
  • Report and implement audits and coordinate corrective actions.
  • Conduct hazards assessments and provide fit to work permit for the site personnel.
  • Maintain the constant information flow for HSE-related matters through dashboards and regular meetings.
  • Report and initiate company’s or client’s emergency response processes.
  • Manage and conduct daily and/or weekly toolbox talks, as needed.
  • Coordinate the implementation of HSE procedures and best practices across project sites.
  • Advise site teams and subcontractors on HSE issues and compliance requirements.
  • Facilitate communication between management and field teams on HSE matters.
  • Participate in the development and update of site-specific risk assessments, method statements, and HSE plans.
  • Review and validate safety documentation from subcontractors and suppliers, making sure those abide by relevant regulatory frameworks.
  • Monitor key HSE performance indicators and prepare regular internal reports.
  • Lead the investigation of incidents, ensuring lessons learned are communicated and corrective actions implemented.
  • Lead or assist in safety audits, drills, and HSE inspections.
  • Promote a strong safety culture through awareness campaigns, coaching, and engagement.
  • Keep up to date with HSE legislation, standards, and industry trends.


Requirements

Professional Experience

  • Extensive experience of at least 15 years in a Health & Safety coordination or advisory role within heavy construction or industrial environments, ideally in heavy lifts and large-scale projects.
  • Experience in waste management, energy, or infrastructure projects will be highly valued.
  • Rehabilitation / Recovery experience as an advantage.

 

Academic Background & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related technical field.
  • Relevant certifications are essential.

 

Languages & Technical Capabilities

  • Fluency in Greek and English (written and spoken).
  • Additional knowledge of Italian will be an advantage.
  • Excellent knowledge of HSE management systems, risk assessment methodologies, and legal compliance frameworks.
  • Advanced user of MS Office and safety reporting tools or platforms.
