Summary

Primary Purpose

The HRIS Analyst is responsible for managing and optimizing HR technology systems to ensure efficient and accurate data management, reporting, and analytics. This role plays a crucial part in supporting the HR team and the broader organization by maintaining system integrity, improving processes, and leading HR system upgrades and IT projects.

Essential Functions

  • Manage and maintain HR systems, including Banner, People Admin, Managed Engine, Argos, BenefitFocus, Voya, and other HR-related platforms for generating HR analytics and workforce insights.
  • Regularly assess system performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement enhancements to optimize HR technology functionality.
  • Oversee data management processes, ensuring accuracy, security, and HR compliance best practices.
  • Develop and analyze HR reports and people analytics to support data-driven decision-making for management.
  • Lead system training, create user guides, and drive adoption across HR teams and stakeholders to maximize system efficiency.
  • Administer user roles, permissions, and security settings across HR systems to protect sensitive employee data and ensure compliance with data privacy regulations.
  • Serves as the Liaison / HR Lead / HR presentative for Pacific Technology projects, including system upgrades, integrations, and process improvements.
  • Provide technical support to HR system users, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate with Pacific Tech and/or vendors IT teams, for timely resolution.
  • Support Payroll and Benefits processes by collaborating with payroll and benefits teams to ensure HR system accuracy in employee compensation, deductions, benefits enrollment, and compliance reporting in the Banner system.
  • Monitor and maintain system configurations to align with federal, state, and local labor laws, as well as organizational policies.
  • Identify opportunities for automation to streamline HR workflows, improve efficiency, and enhance user experience.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field OR equivalent (i.e., Two (2) years of full-time experience in the same/similar position is equal to one (1) year of completed post-high school education coursework)

Skills:

  • Three (3) years of experience working with HRIS systems (e.g., but not limited to Ellucian, PeopleAdmin, Managed Engine, Argos, Benefit Focus, Voya etc.).
  • Three (3) years of advanced Microsoft Suite experience especially in Power BI and Excel (formulas, pivot tables, data modeling), and HRIS report generation tools experience in a similar work environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience managing HR systems, databases, and reporting tools.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to generate actionable insights from HR data.
  • Knowledge of HR processes and compliance regulations.
  • Strong communication and training abilities to support system users across the organization.
  • Experience with system upgrades, implementations, and process automation is a plus.
  • Knowledge of principles, practices, and techniques of human resources.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, PMP certification) to lead HR system upgrades and IT projects.
  • Experience with SQL queries, Python, or automation tools to enhance HR system efficiencies.
  • Demonstrated experience in advancing social justice, equity, and inclusion in a university setting.
  • Ability to engage and integrate culturally responsive practices and knowledge in their work.
  • Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures.

Work Environment/Work Week/Travel: Work performed in a typical office environment with the use of computer, phone and office equipment. Duties performed during standard business hours, additional time may be required to meet business needs or deadlines.

Hiring Range: $68,640.00 - $86,273.00 per year. We consider factors such as, but not limited to, scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's qualifications, internal equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
