This position oversees all Human Resources operations as well as the administration and maintenance of all Facility Benefit Programs, ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
Must have strong union experience, including handling grievances, resolving disputes, and ensuring compliance with collective bargaining agreements.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Ensures compliance with legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions.
Administers various Human Resources plans and procedures for all facility personnel.
Performs recruitment activities, including writing and placing advertisements, interviewing, testing, and selecting employees.
Plans and conducts new employee orientations.
Maintains records of benefits plans, personnel transactions, performance reviews, and government reporting statistics.
Coordinates training or trains managers in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance management, safety, and harassment prevention.
Advises management in the appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.
Manages EEOC complaints and other employee relations matters.
Investigates grievances, represents the company at grievance hearings, and assists with collective bargaining negotiations.
Administers Affirmative Action Plans.
Oversees performance review and salary administration programs.
Manages employee benefits programs including health, dental, disability, pension plans, and leave policies.
Investigates accidents and prepares reports for insurance purposes.
Conducts exit interviews and prepares separation documentation.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Education And Experience
Bachelor’s Degree (BA) from a four-year college or university.
5+ years of related experience and/or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience working with a unionized workforce and administering collective bargaining agreements.
2+ years of supervisory experience.
Experience administering benefit programs.
